Tell it what you need. It's done.
"Book Anna in for a massage on Friday at 14:00." Your assistant checks availability, finds the customer and confirms the booking — right in your calendar.
Just say it.
A few things you can ask your assistant, word for word:
- "When is the next free slot for a haircut?"
- "What does my Thursday look like?"
- "Book Anna Nordmann in for a massage on Friday at 14:00."
- "Has Jon booked anything this month?"
- "Cancel my 10 o'clock tomorrow."
- "Find a time next week where I can fit in a 90-minute session."
How it works.
You ask your assistant.
In plain language, in the chat you already use — no forms, no clicking through a calendar.
It talks to Makeplans.
Over MCP, the open standard for connecting AI assistants — authenticated with your Makeplans credentials.
The booking lands in your calendar.
Confirmations and reminders go out automatically, exactly as if you had booked it yourself.
One sentence, several steps.
Assistants don't just run single commands — they chain them. Ask for the outcome you want, and yours works out the steps.
Reschedule in one sentence.
"Move Anna's Friday massage to sometime next week." Your assistant finds the booking, checks next week's availability, cancels the old time and books the new one — you just confirm.
Plan your week at a glance.
"Which days next week have the most open slots?" The assistant checks availability across the whole week and gives you the picture in seconds — no clicking through days.
Not just chat — agents too.
MCP works for autonomous agents as well as chat. A scheduled agent can pull tomorrow's bookings every evening and prepare your day sheet — same open standard, no custom integration.
An open standard. No lock-in.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard. Any assistant or agent that speaks MCP can connect to Makeplans — no proprietary plugin, no gatekeeper.
It's the same way we build everything: your data is yours, our API is open, and you can leave whenever you want. We just don't think you'll want to.
The MCP server focuses on daily booking tasks, and we're expanding it based on what customers ask for. Want your assistant to do something it can't yet? Tell us — that's how we decide what's next.

AI booking assistant questions
Which AI assistants work with Makeplans?
Any assistant that supports MCP (Model Context Protocol), including Claude and ChatGPT. MCP is an open standard, so new assistants work without us building anything special.
Can my customers book through their own AI assistant?
No — the MCP server is for you and your staff. It connects with your Makeplans credentials, so only your business can use it. Your customers book on your booking site as usual.
What can the assistant do?
Check availability, list your services and events, look up customers, and create or cancel bookings. Settings, reports and everything else stay in Makeplans.
What does it cost?
Nothing extra — the MCP server is included. Makeplans is one fixed monthly price per bookable calendar; see our pricing page.
Is it secure?
The assistant connects with your own Makeplans credentials and can only do what the MCP server exposes: read your booking data and create or cancel bookings. You can revoke access at any time, and nothing is shared with anyone else.
Will my assistant be able to do more over time?
Yes. The full Makeplans API covers far more than the MCP server does today, and we're expanding the server based on what customers actually ask for. Anything the assistant can't do yet, you can already build with the API.
